🔴DEVILS HISTORY🏆:AWL FINALS WEEKEND WRAP-UP🔴
Heading into finals, both our AWL teams secured places in the TOP 6️⃣ of the 2024 Season‼️
After a devastating loss against @fremantlewaterpolo ⚓️ our Women’s team was able to pull through with a fantastic game against @uwatorpedoes 🚀 going into penalties, tied at 11-11 at full time. Bridget Johnston, aka ‘The Wall,’ made two phenomenal saves, psyching out the final Torps shooter to win us the game 14-12, securing a TOP 5️⃣ finish‼️ The girls should be incredibly proud of their performance this season as they fought tooth and nail to the very end, going down only by two goals in their last match against the 2024 Women’s AWL Champs @qldthunder ⚡️
Our Men’s team walked into finals ready to defend their minor premiership and with a thirst to have a clean sweep: M2s, SSL, AND AWL! After beating @utsbalmainwpc 🐯 in the Semis and securing their spot in the Grand Final, they took on @syduniwaterpolo 🦁 where they were able to claim the win 11-10 and for the first time in Club history be named the Men’s AWL Champions 🏆😈🎉
💪Shout out to our Women’s Vice Captain, Georgia Southern, for playing her 100th AWL game over the finals series weekend, against Freo! 🎉
